When Running EPM System Configuration for Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) "Configure Application Server" and "Configure DCOM" steps fail and the below error message is reported in the configtool.log:
[SRC_CLASS: com.hyperion.hfm.config.HfmAppServerTaskProcessor] Error: Error while configuring HFM Application Server: Failed to set the DCOM identity of {B5300D74-B93E-11D3-A562-00108302EA95} to DCOMUSER: IDispatch error #1538
Solution:
1. Manually Create a windows account to be used as the Hyperion Service Account
2. Make that user a member of local administrators group on the HFM Servers in the environment.
3. Launch the EPM System Configuration Utility and choose "Configure DCOM" for the Financial Management Component.
4. Enter the DCOM user as <domain>\<username> and the password.
5. Complete the configuration.
