11.1.2.3.500 Adds Support in the Hyperion EPM Certification Matrix

The .500 PSU set for Oracle’s EPM version 11.1.2.3 adds support for latest Oracle RDBS version 12c, Internet Explorer 10, and Windows 8. Some things you need to know…Oracle released the latest version of its Oracle Database 12c last year. The Oracle EPM suite has not been certified on this release until now. With the .500 patch set Oracle EPM components are now supported with Oracle 12c, but with a few caveats.
Oracle 12.1.0.1+ is supported only when:
  • EPM 11.1.2.3 is patched to the .500 PSU level or later
  • It is only supported when used with WebLogic Server
  • Weblogic must be version 10.3.6 or later
  • If FCM and Disclosure Management are part of the installation Oracle Fusion
  • Middleware must be version 11.1.1.7 or later
Internet Explorer 10 has been around for a bit, and it performs better than legacy releases of the Microsoft flagship browser. The EPM suite has finally been certified to support Internet Explorer 10 with the 11.1.2.3.500 PSU applied. Support is offered when running Internet Explorer on Windows 7, Windows 8, or Windows Server 2008 OS platforms only. Don’t let your users upgrade to IE 11 yet, this version has not been certified yet.
As enterprises are refreshing their end user hardware, and expanding programs like BYOD, Windows 8 is becoming more and more prevalent in the corporate networks. This patch set adds support for Windows 8 when running the EPM clients like the Financial Reporting Studio. When looking to Windows 8 make sure your users are using Internet Explorer 10 though, IE 7,8,9 are not supported on Windows 8.
It looks like Windows XP has been completely dropped as a supported client platform in this patch set update. Although most enterprises have moved away from Windows XP, there may be some BYOD users still on the older Operating System so plan accordingly.
Many organizations have been waiting for support for these key versions for some time, and now EPM is ready to meet their expectations.
